Hot on the heals of last weeks Security update, another urgent security update (CVE-2013-0156) was released for all versions of Ruby on Rails.

This is a critical security update that needs resolving immediately. It is important if you run a Rails application to get your Rails version upgraded as soon as practical.

Upgrading a fairly recent version of Rails is quite easy and we do offer this as a service to our clients and contact us if you need more information. If you are technically minded, you can follow the instructions contained in the security report

reInteractive are offering a special fixed price upgrade service for any Rails 2.3, 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2 application. We will upgrade your Rails application to the latest patch version or specifically patch for this security fix if your application is unable to upgrade for $750 AUD (plus GST if in Australia).

If you have an older version or Rails, please contact us and we can work out a price with you.

Get Familiar with the Rails Maintenance Policy

It is important to understand the Rails maintenance policy. It provides clarity and transparency about the software's support lifecycle, allowing users to make informed decisions about when to upgrade and how to manage their software installations.
