Last night saw our third and biggest ever Ruby on Rails InstallFest, held at Fairfax Media. With over 20 people from varying backgrounds (Pharmacists, School Teachers, Real Estate Agents and more) coming along to get started and learn all about Ruby on Rails.
For the first time, we combined our two evening Meetup into one information packed event! As attendees arrived, we got down to business, installed Rails and sent them on their way! Our Developers jumped around the room to help and answer any questions, as attendees powered on and built their first Ruby on Rails application!
Once their app had been pushed live to the world wide web, our newbies had to pretty it up and added some colour and style to their new blogs!
After being pushed into the deep end, and spending the evening coding with Ruby on Rails, it was time to give our newbies a break from their hard work! While they munched away on their pizza, Founder of reInteractive Mikel Lindsaar gave them an introduction to Ruby on Rails and shared a bunch of his awesome tips and tricks.
