Here at reInteractive, we book our UX and design team weekly or daily on projects. We try to line everything up without gaps, but sometimes we have a day or two in between clients. We usually use this time to create some cool things for reInteractive or spruce up our design skills. However, we’d also like to to see what others are working on! So, we’d like to pair with you on your design projects!
How it Works
When we have a day off from client work we can come to your office (or pair with your remotely) sit with you or 1 or 2 of your designers and review your design or UX.
Ideally, when we arrive you’ll have some idea of what we can pair on. Our Front-end Designer can provide you with feedback on your HTML and CSS structure, while our UX Consultant can give you some tips on how to make your users even happier. Otherwise we can just spend some time trying to give you a fresh perspective on whatever you are working on.
We are happy to pair with anyone at any skill level.
The Details
Our Front-end Designer Joelle Peters lives and works in Melbourne, she often works out of Inspire9, so she can easily work from there or pair with your remotely.
Our UX Consultant Ildik√≥ Balla lives and works in Sydney, so you should be somewhere easily accessible in Sydney. She can easily meet somewhere in the CBD if that’s convenient or pair remotely with you.
This will only happen in between client projects once our designers have fulfilled their client obligations during that week. To find out our availability please contact Chloé our Community Manager.
We would arrive at your office around 10:00am and we’d work for a couple of hours, break for lunch and then resume from around 1:30pm for another 2 hour session.
There is absolutely no charge for this, but please note that this includes just one day of pairing and is a once off per client.
What’s in it For Us?
As designers, we want to gain experience in as many different design projects as we can. Since we normally work fully remote and don’t have a team of designers around us, we don’t get to pair as often as we’d like and think it’s a great way for both people to learn from each other.
Also from our point of view, taking a role in helping the community improve is a good thing. Outside of design, we run a lot of initiatives within the Ruby on Rails Community, including the InstallFest for those people who are new to Ruby on Rails and DevelopmentHub for those people who want to hack on Rails projects amongst friends.
We get to blog about our experiences working with you and the rest of this amazing community.
Getting UX and design feedback early on is better than too late, but we realise some parts of your project may be sensitive, or not ready to share with our blog’s audience just yet. Let us know if this is the case and we’ll try to work something out with you.
You’re under no obligation, but if we make a particularly good impression you’re welcome to hire reInteractive to work with you on a more regular basis. You might like to see some of the design work we’ve recently done.
Interested?
Please email our Community Manager Chlo√© with who and where you are, what you’d like to work on. We’ll then work out how to get you into the schedule.
