Everything You Need To Know About Salesforce Heroku

By Madhuri Shrestha,

development Heroku management Salesforce

Salesforce and Heroku are two services that one has probably heard about at least once. It is one of the most loved services helping businesses deliver and scale, and rightly so.

Heroku was founded by Orion Henry, James Lindenbaum, and Adam Wiggins in 2007. Heroku launched commercially with support for Ruby in April, 2009. Eventually Heroku got acquired by Salesforce in 2011 and is now part of the Salesforce Platform which has helped Salesforce offer a full experience where CRM data and functioning apps can come together.

How reinteractive can build apps on top of your Salesforce organization and still be immune from Salesforce outages

By Glen Crawford,

2021 development Heroku Salesforce

Last week Salesforce had an outage. And not just any outage; a worldwide one that lasted hours and affected thousands of businesses and millions of users around the world.

Here at reinteractive we have quite a few apps that we have built for clients that interface with their Salesforce organisation, accounting for about half of all the new apps that we have built in the last two or so years. Some of these apps use our StoreConnect® service, and some are bespoke builds.

A look forward from 2020

By Mikel Lindsaar,

development Heroku Ruby on Rails Salesforce

2020 was a rollercoaster for the vast majority of people. It was likely the most challenging, stressful, invigorating and finally, rewarding year that I have experienced since I started this business.

The decision to make reinteractive 100% remote work a decade ago once again proved itself to be one of the smartest management choices I have made, and I’m forever grateful that we have this luxury at reinteractive.

Patching Rails Database Schema Dumps to Support Multiple PostgreSQL Schemas

By Glen Crawford,

2020 development Heroku rails Ruby on Rails Salesforce

If you have a Ruby on Rails application running with a PostgreSQL database, then you may be aware that both tools support the usage of ActiveRecord models being backed by database tables stored in different schemas. This isn't the most common thing to do, but it can sometimes be useful to namespace your database tables within different schemas to keep them separate.

For example, at reinteractive on storeConnect®, we have tables that are synced from Salesforce via Heroku Connect. These tables are stored in the salesforce schema, and other tables that are specific to the local Rails application, such as shopping carts, are stored in the store_connect schema.
