Over the last two evenings, at reInteractive’s Second InstallFest, eighteen new enthusiasts were set-up and started with Ruby on Rails.

Last night, gave our InstallFest attendees the chance to find out what Ruby on Rails is all about, and have the opportunity to ask our team, Elle Meredith, Tian Chen, Tim Hemi, 22, and Founder, Mikel Lindsaar any questions that they had!

Attendees then got straight back to work, following article 2, to give their new application some personality and style! Once this was complete, our new Railers were able to test their blog, add an administration panel, convert their blog posts to Markdown format and add even more awesome features!

Check out our photos of the evening on our Facebook Gallery.

Here is what May’s InstallFest attendees had to say after Evening 2:

“The reInteractive InstallFest was a great way to get up and rolling with Ruby on Rails. Never having coded in it before, I was happily surprised to have my own blog coded and online on the first day. The instructors and and written guides, made the whole process effortless.” - Bravo Child

“I thought it was a great introduction to RoR, very practical and it was rewarding to get my hands dirty, build it and see the blog application live on the world wide web.” - Lance Cohen

“Great experience! I am impressed by the level of detail covered in such a short amount of time, especially testing.” - Jurgens Smit

“Overall, really good way to kickstart learning of Ruby on Rails. The second day’s talk on MVC and why Ruby on Rails, was great!” - Naveen Danda

“Really great meet-up. A lot of passion has gone into it and I would certainly recommend it to others.” - Jonathan Witts

“Really good to get an end-to-end view and a test app going. Still lots to learn, but a great start. Thanks to all who made it possible.” - Paul Hunter
